Product Description
BWT Multi C 3000.2 Whole House Chlorine Filter
The BWT Multi C 3000.2 is a high-capacity whole-house activated carbon filtration system designed to reduce chlorine and improve the taste, odour and clarity of municipal drinking water. Installed at the point of entry, the Multi C treats water before it is distributed throughout the home, providing filtered water throughout your plumbing system.
At the heart of the system is a large granular activated carbon (GAC) filter bed that reduces chlorine along with colour- and odour-causing contaminants. The Multi C also removes turbidity from the incoming drinking water. Rather than relying on frequent cartridge changes, the system automatically backwashes after a predefined volume of water has been treated, loosening the filter media and flushing accumulated impurities from the filter bed.
With a peak flow rate of up to 3.0 m³/h (13.2 GPM), the Multi C 3000.2 is designed for whole-home applications requiring strong filtration performance without unnecessarily restricting household water flow.
Key Features & Benefits
- ✓ Whole-house chlorine reduction – Reduces chlorine throughout the home's water supply.
- ✓ Greater than 98% chlorine reduction – Rated at >98% chlorine reduction during peak flow.
- ✓ Improves taste and odour – Activated carbon reduces contaminants responsible for undesirable colour and smell.
- ✓ Reduces turbidity – Helps remove suspended material that can affect water clarity.
- ✓ High-flow performance – Delivers up to 3.0 m³/h (13.2 GPM) peak flow.
- ✓ Automatic backwashing – Automatically cleans the filter bed after a predefined volume of water has been treated.
- ✓ Large activated carbon bed – Approximately 24 kg of granular activated carbon filter material.
- ✓ Integrated water meter – Measures filtered water for volume-based system operation.
- ✓ Integrated bypass – Allows unfiltered water to remain available during the backwashing cycle.
- ✓ Point-of-entry treatment – Filters municipal water before it is distributed throughout the home.
Better Water Throughout Your Home
Municipal water is disinfected to help keep it safe as it travels through the distribution system, but residual chlorine can affect the way water tastes and smells once it reaches your home.
The BWT Multi C 3000.2 is installed on the main incoming water line to reduce chlorine before water reaches your showers, faucets and water-using appliances. That means one centralized filtration system can improve water quality throughout the home rather than treating only a single drinking-water faucet.
Granular Activated Carbon Filtration
The Multi C 3000.2 uses a substantial bed of granular activated carbon to treat incoming drinking water. During normal operation, water flows from the top to the bottom of the filter bed, where impurities are filtered or adsorbed by the media.
The activated carbon filter material used by BWT conforms to DIN EN 12915-1 and is listed as NSF 61 filter material.
Automatic Backwashing
Unlike a conventional whole-house carbon cartridge, the Multi C incorporates an automatic backwashing system. After a predefined volume of water has passed through the filter, the system reverses the direction of flow through the filter bed.
Water flows from the bottom upward, loosening the media and flushing accumulated impurities to drain. Once the backwashing cycle is complete, the system automatically returns to normal filtration.
An integrated bypass allows water to remain available during backwashing, although water supplied through the bypass during this cycle is unfiltered.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the BWT Multi C 3000.2 remove?
The Multi C 3000.2 is designed to substantially reduce chlorine along with colour- and odour-causing contaminants in drinking water. It also removes turbidity from the incoming water.
Does the Multi C 3000.2 soften water?
No. The Multi C is an activated carbon filtration system and is not a water softener. If hardness reduction is required, a dedicated BWT water softener can be installed as part of a complete water treatment system.
Is the Multi C designed for well water?
The Multi C is designed to treat water that is already of drinking-water quality. For untreated or problem well water containing iron, manganese or other contaminants, a properly selected well-water treatment system should be used instead.
Does it reduce chlorine throughout the entire house?
Yes. When installed as a point-of-entry system on the home's main water supply, the Multi C treats water before it is distributed throughout the plumbing system.
How much chlorine does it reduce?
BWT specifies greater than 98% chlorine reduction during peak flow for the Multi C series under the stated operating conditions.
What is the maximum flow rate?
The BWT Multi C 3000.2 has a specified peak flow rate of 3.0 m³/h (13.2 GPM).
Does the filter need cartridges?
No conventional replaceable filter cartridge is used. The Multi C contains a large granular activated carbon filter bed and automatically backwashes to loosen the media and flush accumulated impurities.
Does the Multi C require a drain?
Yes. The system automatically backwashes and therefore requires an appropriately installed drain connection.
Can water still be used while the system is backwashing?
Yes. The integrated bypass allows water to remain available during backwashing. Water supplied through the bypass during the backwashing cycle is unfiltered.
How do I know if the Multi C 3000.2 is the right size for my home?
Whole-house filtration should be sized according to expected peak flow, incoming water conditions, plumbing configuration and household demand. Contact Planet Blue Water for assistance selecting the appropriate Multi C model for your application.
